Chief's Message

On behalf of the members of the Watford City Police Department, I welcome you to our website and encourage you to return in the future for updated information.

The Police Department consists of dedicated men and women who protect and serve our community every day.  We are honored by the high level of trust you place in us, and we strive to maintain that as we carry out our duties.

The officers and civilian staff of the Police Department work together to reduce crime and improve livability in our City.  However, we cannot do it alone. We partner with many different agencies and groups not only to enforce the law, but to educate, to inform, and to assist those we interact with.  All of our members understand that simply enforcing the law is not always the best or right answer.  We work with advocacy groups to protect the rights of victims and others affected by criminal activity; we work with local businesses to promote responsible business practices; and we work with the schools to help shape model students into being the upstanding citizens of tomorrow.

I have empowered our members to solve problems at the lowest and most effective level.  I trust them to do the right thing, at the right time, for the right reasons.

I am proud of the members of the Watford City Police Department, and humbled that I have the opportunity to serve them, and you, as the Chief of Police.

At your service,

Shawn Doble

The Buzz

In Watford I got to go to my first National Park. I made some friends and we went to the badlands and saw things we never heard of before like jackrabbits and mule deer. In my opinion Watford is the best city ever!
