Permit Application

The Watford City "Building Permit" Application has changed to

Only the most current version of the Permit Application will be accepted (updated February 2016).

The PERMIT APPLICATION encompasses: Building, Demolition, Excavation, Sign, Moving, Fence, Construct/Repair, Private Sewer, Storage and Water/Sewer Access permits.

Submittal requirements for each permit type are detailed within the application. A fillable Permit Application can be found in the link below. For additional information or questions regarding permitting, please contact the Planning Department at (701)444-2533 ext. 5.

NOTE: Permits are valid for six (6) months from the date of issue and may be renewed thereafter for an additional six (6) months. Renewal forms can also be found in the link below.

NOTE: The Applications in the links below are fillable forms if viewed using Internet Explorer (not Firefox). The Permit Application is formatted to Legal Size paper (8 1/2 x 14). If you are unable to print using this size, applications can still be accepted but please make sure to adjust your printer settings when using a smaller size paper in order to avoid the application being cut-off and having missing information. If printing directly from the PDF, be sure to uncheck the box that says "Choose Paper Source by PDF Page Size" just before printing. This will help to format to your own paper size.

The Buzz

In Watford I got to go to my first National Park. I made some friends and we went to the badlands and saw things we never heard of before like jackrabbits and mule deer. In my opinion Watford is the best city ever!
